Update 1.4 - All Platforms

Hotfix 1.4.1 – 27 Sept 2024

  • Fixes for two complex crashes showing up in logs

Update 1.4 New Content

  • Added a brand new Horde mode featuring three new arenas.
  • Added leaderboards and results screens for both Horde Mode and Campaign
  • Added new subtitle languages: Korean and Simplified Chinese

Key Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a rare bug where progress is not saved correctly when playing for the first time

Improvements

  • Improved performance across the game on all platforms
  • Added interactive/throwable/destructible objects across the campaign
  • Added several VR-focused sections to the campaign, including a new grapple leash mechanic
  • Enabled the energy leash to pull weapons and ammo towards you
  • Added five brand new skillshots – Stylin’ And Profilin’, Double Trouble, The Ol’ Switcharoo, Not a Clown but the Whole Circus, and Harder Daddy
  • Improved weapon reloading and added physically activated charged shots in ‘immersive reloading’ mode
  • Game balance improvements across the game

Optimization & Quality of Life Improvements

  • Added an option for adjustable body slots to alter the grab points for hip and shoulder slots to improve accessibility and comfort
  • Adjusted weapons recoil
  • Expanded button mapping options and the ability to switch the movement of the thumbstick
  • Added the option to choose whether ammo is auto-picked up when walking over it

AI

  • Improved enemy AI and targeting
  • Added smoother animations blend to NPC’s, Ishi, Trishka, and Sarrano
  • Added physical interactions with NPC and characters with bespoke reactions on Trishka, Ishi, and Sarrano for inappropriate touching

Sound/Music

  • Updating enemy footstep SFX

SteamVR Specific

  • Fixed blockers on the Last train from the explosion town (1-2) level, where the player stays on the wrong side of the hangar door and kills all enemies with the Boneduster weapon, can halt progression.
  • Fixed a progression blocker on I don’t hold you accountable (5-2) level.
  • Fixed the cutscene at the end of Act 3, where it sometimes didn’t appear. 
  • Fixed a blocker in the prologue where leashing the second obstacle before the encounter will halt progression.

Optimization & Quality of Life Improvements

  • Made several optimizations on Vultures to improve performance.
  • Fixed the chaingun barrel looking warped while firing.
  • Ishi’s body no longer floats on the Med Lab operating table.
  • Fixed a bug where the game accepts inputs in the in-game pause menu while the headset isn’t worn.

AI

  • Fixed a blocker on the On the road to hell (0-4) level, where getting in Whit “Doc” Oliver’s face when he’s meant to be “typing” will break his animation and halt progress.
  • Added new idle animations for companions while out of combat.
  • Fixed the Heavy Echo’s model, where the torso had the model swapped for one from an Echo Guard.

Sound/Music

  • Added missing sound effects to Newsbots, Explosive barrels, and Elevator doors.
  • Made improvements to sound volumes.
  • Fixed several overlapping dialogues.

Known issues

  • Options incorrectly being applied from one menu when applying changes are entered on a different menu.
  • Skillshot/Achievement/Trophy Pest Control can’t currently be achieved.

  • Fixed location where players die and respawn under the train moving train platform.
  • Fixed Particle VFX issues on Quest 3.
  • Fixed a soft lock if the Oculus menu is opened when the pause menu is not meant to be available in-game.
  • Fixed a common crash caused by repeated reloads with the Headhunter.
  • Fixed a bug where Boneduster charged shot did no damage to Vultures.
  • Enemies hit by flail gun are now correctly stunned and unable to move/find cover.

Known Issues for future patches

  • Triggering the cutscene in Act 1, Chapter 2, before eliminating all enemies can cause a progression blocker.
  • In rare cases, kicking the elevator in Act 0, Chapter 2 from an unusual angle can get the player locked behind.
  • Heavy Echo’s separated torso model needs to be corrected.
  • Newsbots and Explosive barrels sometimes do not trigger explosion sound effects.
  • In Act 1, Chapter 1, Ishi’s body floats on the operating table.
